It seems possible Ferri will be guest with Bolle for two special performances of Dame aux Camelias during Ballet Days 2007. In Japan she and Bolle will dance three pieces: two different 'Romeo and Juliet', macMillan's and Amedeo Amodio's versions and Giselle p/d.
Have been yet the other dancers of this Gala event announced? I cannot read Japanese, but I'm curious to hear who will be there. Thanks!

Thank you for your report and photos of Dame at Scala. Though I missed to see Massimo Murru this time, I really enjoy your information.
Ferri's three gala performances with Bolle will be scheduled on 2,3 and 6, August. Dancers from ABT, Hunburg Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet will be announced.

I can imagine how fascinating Ferri performed. After Marcia Haydee and Monique Ludiere, she is only an actress-dancer, I wish I could see her performances in a full version.
By the way Ferri and her friends will perform her farewel gala concert in Tokyo in August.

just few words to tell about the great and moving debut of Alessandra Ferri as Marguerite, her last role- she has announced she's going to leave the stage at the end of summer. At la Scala she gave an outstanding play of the role, in a crescendo that arrived to the paramount in the black pas de deux. Her partner is Roberto Bolle, a young and impulsive Armand. I think that maybe the Hamburg friends 'll be able to see Ferri's Marguerite during Ballet Days...

thank you for the confirmation. I really do not know how to see this choice but I can imagine a dancer wants to enlarge his experience and in Dresden now there is a lot of enthusiasm (let'hope it lasts!)I think he wants also to have more place as dancemaker. Anyway I hope Otto will remain in Hamburg. Indeed I find him sometime more interesting than his brother indeed, and maybe he can take larger and larger place in the company. Considering the male principals, as Lloyd and Ivan are getting older for some special roles and Thiago is too young and he has to mature indeed, Carsten is good for some but I am not so sure in classics he can work as a real principal, the true complete stars remain Sacha and Otto. Or are news of some new arrival or promotion? s

sorry for my delay in reporting the terrific succes of HB in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, during the season of 7 performances of R&J. All the company was absolutely outstanding and so lively and 'true' that the drama seemed to develop naturally as the response of immediate facts and reactions. Silvia Azzoni absolutely marvellous: a sublime Juliet, so tiny she is so great she appears on the stage. I loved also the different, fresh Juliet of Helene Bouchet, with Thiago Bordin as her young and bold Romeo. In so a different way Ivan Urban and Carsten Jung were a wild 'Prince of Cats Tybalt' but Sacha Riabko literally stole the show with his Mercutio's death. It was so powerful and dramatic, and moving that public was overwhelmed and nobody (more or less) stood up from his own seat during the following intermission. Everyone wanted to stay and continue feeling the strong emotions. Massimo Murru, guest of HB, with complete devotion put himself in Neumeier's hands to create Romeo. A sensitive dancer, he grow performance after perfomance. I hear Neumeier was satisfied by his way to work. A wonderful tour to Sardinia, indeed, against all the strikes and bad weather Italy reserved me in those days.

I'll be in touch to tell about the Italian performances of R&J, scheduled next January in Cagliari. The HB will dance for 7 dates there, and the role of Romeo will see also the debut of Italian etoile Massimo Murru- Sylvie Guillem's usual partner- with the company. Massimo said he is delighted to have this opportunity as he loved so much to dance 'Daphnis and Chloe' at la Scala and he longed to have new opportunities to dance a Neumeier's ballet, as his characters, he said, are so deep and intense, he love to live in... (his dream is also to dance the King in 'Illusions like swan lake') and Armand.

.....Under the last days I have been in Kopenhagen to watch LloydLs premiere as an instructor - of a Bournonville-ballet called "Kermessen in Bruegge". ItLs a really nice and funny short ballet of 2 acts:) And Lloyd (and Niurka) were really proud - and all the public was cheering and laughing a lot with really a lot of applause at the end:) You could see how happy and moved they both were:) But they had a lot of support: from the Queen of Denmark and even some other dancers from the Hamburg Ballett, who just came there for the Premiere :) just phantastic!

Ciao Sachikom and everybody. I had the luck to attend the Danza & Danza Gala, last month and I enjoied the special moment of poetry and concentration Silvia, Lloyd and Alexander Riabko gave us dancing a intense Pas de trois from Death in Venice. Neumeier imagined a choreographer ( Riggins) in creative crisis, who tries to put in real dance his ideals of beauty, harmony and lyricism (Silvia and Sacha). It is a very clever moment of choreography which realizes clearly Neumeier's intentions of describing, in a way, all the inner turmoils an artist must have when he tries to give a form to his ideals. They danced at the end of the evening and they received an outstanding acclaim by the audience although the piece were not really ' a gala-piece', so intimate and 'secret' it was. But the dancers take us immediately in the atmosphere of the ballet and they kept our attention and emotion always up up up. What artists they are!
